made you smile

"I ate a Popsicle and now my tongue is purple, and my face is a sticky
blotchy red. My fingers are gummy, my arms are tacky where I wiped my
mouth, my shirt is dripping wet, and the stick is stuck to my pocket. I'm a
syrupy mess! Who can I hug?"

i keep forgetting to post this...

my grandpa (dad's dad) has prostate cancer, and it's already spread. Unfortunatley though, he's decided not to have any operations because, well, he's pretty rarin' to go Home. What sucks about that is that he'll leave my grandma and my uncle john (who is handicapped) all alone, and he's usually the one who shops and all that stuff. so if you read this, could you just pray for our family and because there is no chance that my grandpa will have an operation, that he will just get better or something so he can be around a little longer. thanks guys.

so today i was helping this woman try on shoes, and she starts coming back from the mirror and says "by the way, your fly is open"...yeah. so i figured it had been a good hour and a half since i'd come back from the bathroom, so that's a good chunk of viewing time. plus it was the busiest day at Einarson's that i've ever worked. greeeat. but i check when i came home and luckily my pants didn't show anything. yay. crisis averted. but i still feel like a moron.

turkeys and meatballs and ham...OH MY!

so thanksgiving really bit me in the butt because i could have worked 8 hours on monday but i won't even get stat for it because i haven't worked at the shoe store long enough to qualify. and then superstore decided to only give me 9 hours next week. what? i'm trying to build a house/get married/go on a honeymoon/pay off student loans? what? what? thanks a lot guys. i am so THANKFUL. actually i really am looking forward to this weekend, especially going to Pine Falls with Phil and his family (i get to meet the infamous uncle ralph), it just sucks that i'm losing so many hours. but at supper today with my grandparents we all had to go around and say what we were thankful for, and, cheesy as it is, i like that we still do that because it really makes me think. i almost said "having a job" but then i realized that i'm not really thankful as in, well, i am so glad that i have it, but at the same time having to work two jobs does suck. so i thought about what makes me happy and kind of usually picks me up, and i said "music". and it's true. my life without music would be like rice without salt...like the stuff we had for salt today...

oh AND i changed my commenty things so that janet and julia and whoever else reads this can comment if you wish.

i'm happy

yes that is how i feel today. work was great, i sold 2 pairs of Sketchers and sent a pair of Rockports home on approval, on Saturday i sold 2 pairs of Rockports AND got free cake from the 20th anniversary of the mall, and i got to work with tammy, who is my favourite to work with, but unfortunately (!) she's leaving on mat leave soon. but back to today, i bought this beautiful sweater from Reitmans, had grilled cheese for supper, and got to lie in my bed and read a book for almost an hour! I just feel so content and good. it's just great.

updatttttttte

so my new jorb selling shoes is alright, but we are waiting for stock which makes all the customers kinda cranky, but hey, if the shipyard in B.C. is owned by the mafia, what can ya do? in other areas of my life, we've pretty much decided to have the reception in J.R.'s gym, cuz it's the perfect size, they just painted the walls white, annnnd well i practically grew up there. plus they'll let us dance.
it's really hard not to spend money and save it. but i know it'll be worth it in the end. OH speaking of which, we are pretty much officially building a house! we got the quote back and we can do it, so YESSSSS!! someone was saying to me just yesterday that houses are a good investment. yay us.
