movies *edited*

*for those who wanted reviews, i give you my crappy attempt. i am not a movie critic*

i am on holidays this week, and i am watching all the movies that i've always wanted to see. so far i have watched:

4/5: i've often been skeptical of christian-made movies, and this one did have a few cheesy moments, but as a whole i thought it was really well done. I enjoyed the humor moments with Mr. Rudolph (their neighbor), and the fact that the plot was solidly based on Christian faith. Glad I watched it.

3/5: i love Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin. SO FUNNY. plus there's John Krasinski, so really, you can't go wrong. There were a lot of moments that made me laugh out loud (one being Mr. Krasinski's character entering the kitchen one morning in a too-small girls pajamas), and others that made me cringe, but i appreciate the film's honest look at relationships. I might watch it again.

5/5: this movie made me like Jason Bateman. And that is a feat let me tell you. I loved this movie! It's actually hard to describe...it made my heart feel full and like i'd learned something. I thought the 4 main characters did an excellent job.

4/5: i LOVED that character of Miss Pettigrew, and all her straight-forwardness and wisdom. the story plays out in actually 1 day, and is full of the glamour of the 30's-40's. Amy Adams is a great air-head who needs to choose between a career and love. Watch for the character of Joe, who is a welcome level-headed character.

5/5: i have waited YEARS to watch this movie, and it was well worth it! (if you can't find someone to watch movies with you, just watch 'em yourself) i loved the way John Cusack's character loved his adopted son unconditionally and went to great lengths to prove it to him. I also liked that you couldn't quite tell if the boy was from Mars or not...until the end of course ;)

4/5: i don't mind slow-moving movies so i liked this one about a man who gets laid off and decides he wants to swim across the english channel. I watched this one with Phil and he liked it as well. Very heartwarming, with comic relief provided by Billy Boyd :)

2/5: there really are only women in this movie, and i didn't really like it. There were too many aspects, i find myself not really liking New-York-lifestyle storylines, annnnnd i don't like Meg Ryan. blah.

2/5: i liked that the girl was happy all the time and just made light of everything, but i didn't like the creepy parts where you weren't quite sure if everything was going to be alright. And it wasn't nearly as funny as i had hoped. another one of those they-put-all-the-funny-bits-in-the-commercial ones. wouldn't watch it again.

4/5: i appreciated that this movie was a real look at how someone might deal with the death of a loved one, even if it was heartbreaking and sad. so if you're looking for something to put you in a somber mood, watch this movie.

5/5: this movie was GREAT. i absolutely loved it. i love Emily Blunt, i loved the story, the end.

and i have yet to watch:
